Focus is a key part of our ethos. We focus on Housing and the many elements that make a successful housing project. We sacrifice speed for quality whenever necessary. We balance collaboration and design leadership. We have purposely remained a small studio practice so we can be innovation and focus on the thing we love: Housing.

Collaboration
We design houses every day…. but this might well be your first project, and maybe even the largest and most expensive personal project you will undertake. Collaboration is central to our philosophy. It may be our design, but it is your house. As far as the final decision goes, we are followers.
Design Intent
As a counterpoint to the collaborative process we bring a strong aesthetic, research, and innovation leadership to the design effort, both to inspire and provide options for the delivery of a delightful project. We also lead and coordinate the other consultants in the design team and insist on tight quality & budgetary control during construction.
Passive Design
Having considered the site and client brief, our starting point is usually solar as a primary driver for light, passive solar gain and comfort. Traditionally solar studies are based on an average day at a set time. We advance this to solar videos for the set location from dawn to dust in spring summer and winter for both internal and external spaces.
Planning, Statutory & Technical
Housing is governed by a raft of legislation, regulation and guidelines. This includes Building regulations, Planning regulations, Health & Safety, Contract Law with your builder, Insurances, Finance etc. Most of the onus is on you, the client. We bring a depth of experience in all these areas.
